MG has released additional information on the Cyberster concept speedster ahead of the Shanghai Auto Show. The decision on its serial production has not yet been made, but the debut of the sports car heralds the emergence of a new sub-brand for MG. • The design of the MG Cyberster concept was developed by the London studio of the SAIC corporation, which includes the company, and should refer to one of the classic models of the brand - the MGB sports car. At the same time, the prototype received many stylistic solutions designed to make its appearance ultramodern: from diode illumination encircling the sports car to unusual headlights with its own name Magic Eye. They are named so because when starting the electric car they must open (how exactly this happens is still unclear).
• MG Cyberster received a power plant that allows it to accelerate to 100 km / h in 3 seconds and travel up to 800 kilometers without recharging. It was also announced that the media capabilities of the speedster will include 5G internet connectivity, and the driver's assistant complex will reach the third level of autonomy. Other specifications may be revealed during a full-fledged premiere at the Shanghai Motor Show. At the same time, a decision will be made to launch Cyberster into mass production.
• At the same time, the company has already announced plans to create a model line of electric cars called Cyber. It will be aimed at young buyers, its models will receive both a spectacular design and many new online opportunities. The debut production model of the MG Cyber will be an off-road vehicle, sales of which will start in the fourth quarter of this year.

• The launch of a separate sub-brand for electric vehicles is now being practiced by many Chinese manufacturers. For example, Geely Corporation has its own Zeekr brand, the first model of which will be a conveyor version of last year's Lynk & Co Zero concept.
