Volkswagen showed the first images and shared some technical characteristics of the production version of the Taigun SUV. It was developed specifically for the Indian market, and from the technical point of view, it will become a close relative of the already presented SkodKushaq.

- Externally, the serial Taigun almost does not differ from its prototype, shown last year, with the exception of a number of small details: for example, as the Indian Autos Blog specifies, the 19-inch wheels of the concept will be replaced by more practical 17-inch wheels. Even the massive chrome inserts in the front and rear bumpers and the LED strip across the tailgate have been preserved.
- The silhouette of the crossover is almost identical to that of the SkodKushaq, and the dimensions are expected to match. This means that the Taigun will stretch 4.2 meters in length with a wheelbase of 2.6 meters. It is assumed that the interior design will not undergo any special changes - except for the use of less bright colors in the decoration (official images of the salon have not yet been published). For the novelty, Kushaq will borrow a 10-inch screen of the media system (the concept was equipped with an 8-inch one), and the main difference from a relative will be a virtual dashboard.

The engine range of the serial Taigun will consist of two turbo engines. The youngest with a volume of 1.0 liters develops 115 hp. and 175 Nm of torque, and in a pair he will be offered six-speed "mechanics" or "automatic". The larger 1.5-liter turbo four will provide 150 hp. and 250 Nm and will also be equipped with a mechanical box, but the place of the “automatic” will be taken by a seven-band “robot”. This combination will be the only one available for the Taigun in the GT version shown in the photos.
- VW Taigun will be on sale in the Indian market by August of this year. Prices and missing features will be announced at the same time. The soplatform SkodKushaq was introduced in mid-March. Both crossovers will have to compete with many comparable and inexpensive subcompact crossovers - for example, Hyundai Cret and KiSeltos, Ford EcoSport and Suzuki VitarBrezza.
- In the future, the Indian version of the MQB platform called A0-IN should become the base for two more Skod and Volkswagen models. They are expected to be relatively budget sedans. In Europe, VW plans to introduce a new Taigo cross-coupe soon - a redesigned version of the Brazilian cross-hatch Nivus.
