On the portal of legal information appeared a draft government decree regulating the movement on toll highways. With this project, the Ministry of Transport proposes, among other things, to punish drivers who drove onto the highway with a barrier-free payment system with dirty, unreadable or deliberately hidden numbers. According to Kommersant, possible sanctions are up to the deprivation of a driver's license.

  • The punishment will apply to drivers who hide their license plates when driving on toll highways with the so-called free flow payment system. This system implies automatic payment when driving through specially organized points - the electronics itself will debit the required amount from the motorist's account.
  • The published draft rules for the provision of services for organizing travel on toll highways include not only the official ability to read the registration plate as one of the methods of fixing the passage, but also a direct ban on leaving such roads with unreadable numbers. The traffic police officers on duty at the entrances will identify the violating drivers, as the newspaper Avtodor told the newspaper.
  • Unreadable numbers in the Code of Administrative Offenses have already been taken into account. According to Article 12.2 of the Code, for a dirty registration plate you can get a fine of 500 rubles, and for a deliberate attempt to hide the number from the cameras - a fine 10 times more or lose your license for up to three months. Counterfeiting license plates can lead to a year of driving license revocation.

  • In January, sanctions were introduced for drivers who do not pay for travel: Article 12.21.4 of the Administrative Code allows them to be fined in the amount of one and a half thousand rubles for a passenger car and from five thousand for a truck or bus. For this, automatic fixation cameras are used.
