The organizing committee of the World Car of the Year award named the cars that reached the final in five categories, including the main nomination. None of the contenders for the main title are officially for sale in Russia.

• In the main category "Car of the Year", Honde and Volkswagen ID.4, as well as ToyotYaris, entered the final. Thus, two-thirds of the contenders for the title are electric vehicles. The Audi A3, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe and BMW 4 Series, as well as the crossovers Mercedes-Benz GLA, MazdMX-30 and KiSorento, were left out of the voting. In addition, the KiK5 sedan claimed the victory.
• The list of finalists for the City Car of the Year nomination looks almost the same, with the exception of VW ID.4 - in addition to ToyotYaris and Honde, the title will also be challenged by HondJazz. Thus, whatever the outcome of the vote, the Japanese model will become the main city car of the year on the planet.

• In the category "Premium Car of the Year", three fundamentally different cars reached the final - Land Rover Defender, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Polestar 2. In addition, Defender can also become a winner in the category "Design of the Year" - if it is recognized as more beautiful. than Honde and MazdMX-30, which were also among the finalists.
• Three BMW models - the X5 M and X6 M crossovers, as well as the M2 CS coupe - were excluded from the contenders for the Sports Car of the Year title. The Audi RS Q8, Porsche 911 Turbo and ToyotYaris in hardcore GR performance reached the final.
• Winners in each of the nominations will be announced on April 20. Of all the voiced finalists in Russia, only four models are officially available.
• The five-door ToyotYaris received the title "Car of the Year in Europe" in March this year: the model bypassed such rivals as Fiat 500, CuprFormentor and VW ID.3 in the voting.
