In Arizona, the demonstration races of the ultra-modern fire engine from the Rosenbauer company took place. The car with three engines called RT (Revolutionary Technology) is estimated at a million dollars, but its creators are confident that in the process of operation it will be possible to save significantly.

• The vehicle, which is essentially a bus, is designed in such a way as to provide firefighters with maximum comfort during work, including ease of access to equipment. At the same time, it is about 300 thousand dollars more expensive than conventional fire engines with internal combustion engines, which are now used in the emergency services of the United States. However, it should be significantly cheaper in operation due to lower maintenance costs and lower fuel costs.

• At the same time, the Rosenbauer RT is equipped not with a fully electric, but with a hybrid power plant. The machine is driven by two electric motors with a combined output of up to 490 hp. and 50,000 Nm with a two-stage gearbox on each axle. There are two battery options for 50 and 100 kWh (power reserve is not specified). However, the power plant also includes a relatively compact diesel engine that develops 272 hp. and working as a generator. It is used when there is no way to waste time charging batteries.
• Rosenbauer RT can serve as a power source - this option is needed when electrical equipment (such as a submersible pump or air supply device) needs to be activated.
• The fire truck is planned to be produced with three wheelbase lengths of 2800, 4100 and 4400 millimeters. The basic version of the Rosenbauer RT weighs 18 tons with a length of 7300 millimeters. As InsideEVs clarifies, the car debuted last summer, but is still considered a concept as it is being tested. It was developed with the participation of one of Volvo's cargo divisions.
