1842-horsepower Hennessey Venom F5 Hypercar Could Be Even More Extreme

American studio Hennessey is still working on fine-tuning its Venom F5 hardcore hypercar, which was unveiled in December last year. As the head of the company John Hennessy said in an interview with Top Gear, this process could lead to a special modification with the GTR index, focused not on acceleration, but on handling.

• Testing the hypercar will take at least the entire next year. At the same time, according to Hennessy, during this year the company will try to set several records - first of all, the record for the highest speed among production cars.
• The estimated maximum speed of the Hennessey Venom F5 is 500 km / h, but the atelier has not yet carried out road tests of the hypercar. If Hennessey manages to confirm the calculations in practice, the Venom F5 will become the fastest production car on the planet (the company has never hidden its ambitions). Now this title belongs to SSC Tuatara, which was able to accelerate to 455.3 km / h.
• However, Hennessey is also thinking about a track modification of the hypercar, which may be called the Venom F5 GTR. According to John Hennessy, the main difference of this modification should be revised aerodynamics - the changes will be aimed at increasing downforce. At the same time, in the future, the studio may bring its hypercar to the Nurburgring in order to demonstrate its handling.

• As the head of the company said, we are not talking about some extreme records on the iconic track: “We are talking about a car that is correct from all sides, and the Nordschleife is on the list of our interests. We will not try to show a five minute result or anything like that, but we would like to confirm a lap time of less than seven minutes."

  Now the Nurburgring record among serial sports cars belongs to the 730-horsepower Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. It is 6 minutes and 48 seconds.

• The Hennessey Venom F5 is powered by a 6.6-liter V8 that develops 1,842 hp. and 1617 Nm of torque. The hypercar accelerates to 100 km / h in less than 3 seconds.
