At the Barret-Jackson auction, the first production copy of the Ford Mustang Mach 1 coupe went under the hammer. For the car with VIN number 001, they paid 500 thousand dollars (almost 38 million rubles), and this is almost 10 times higher than the price of a regular sports car. All funds received will be spent on diabetes research.

• The very first of the new generation Ford Mustang Mach 1 rolled off the assembly line is painted standard gray and is additionally equipped with an optional Handling Package. This package includes chassis modifications to improve handling, 19-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and new aerodynamic components.
• The base price of the Ford Mustang Mach 1 in the US is $ 52,720. The optional package will add another $ 3,500 to the price.
• The funds received by the auctioneers will be donated to the JDRF, a non-profit diabetes research foundation.
• The Ford Mustang Mach 1 was officially unveiled last summer, but production of the coupe has just started. It differs from the standard coupe with a modified appearance in the style of 60s cars, a modernized chassis and a five-liter V8 developing 487 hp. The motor is combined with either a six-speed "mechanics" or with a ten-band "automatic". The dynamic characteristics of the sports car, as well as the plans for production volumes, were not named by the manufacturer.

• Earlier at the same auction, the first production SUV Ford Bronco went under the hammer. For the car in the "welcome" series First Edition paid 1,075,000 dollars. Ford plans to produce just 7,000 of these SUVs.
