Jeep To Install Hybrid Wrangler Charging Stations On Off-road Tracks

The Stellantis Alliance has announced the opening of three charging stations near popular US off-road trails. They will be built for the owners of the hybrid Jeep Wrangler 4xe, who will be able to use them for free.

• The opening should take place in the spring. It will be possible to recharge an SUV with a rather modest range on electric traction before three popular routes: in the Moab Desert, Utah, California's Rubicon Trail in Pollock Pines and a section near Big Bear Lake.
• Owners of the Wrangler 4xe only need to install a special mobile application. It will not only open access to free charging, but also allow you to follow the process.
• Introduced in the fall of 2020, the hybrid Wrangler is equipped with a two-liter turbo engine and one electric motor. The total output is 380 hp. and 637 Nm of torque. However, the capacity of the battery is only 17 kWh, and the cruising range exclusively on electric traction does not exceed 34 kilometers.
• Jeep's 240-volt stations will fully replenish a small battery in about two hours. Over the next 12 months, the company will continue to develop its network of stations in conjunction with Electrify Americ, a subsidiary of Volkswagen to build one of the largest charging networks in the United States.
