Volkswagen has released the second image of the new generation Amarok pickup (the first was unveiled in March last year). In the new sketch, the model acquired the outlines of a production car with a two-row cab and acquired a modified front end design. The new Amarok is planned to be produced at the facilities of the Ford Corporation.

- Compared to the first teaser, Amarok has a modified front bumper - now it is less reminiscent of the X-shaped elements used, for example, by the Lad and Mitsubishi brands. In addition, the pickup received more noticeable sockets for fog lights, an embossed hood, a simplified radiator grille, roof rails, and smaller wheels.

The silhouette of the pickup is emphasized by the developed stamping in the area of the window sill, and a hint of a roll cage appeared in the back. As suggested by Motor1, this can be considered an indirect confirmation of Volkswagen's intentions to release a "hardcore" modification of the pickup under the name Amarok R.
- It could be the Volkswagen version of the future Ford Ranger Raptor, while the usual Amaroks will be structurally twins of the standard Ranger versions. An agreement on the joint development of both families was signed back in 2019. It is expected that the Amarok will receive not only the platform, but also the engines of the American truck.
- At the same time, the Amarok will be produced not in the USA, but in South Africa - at the Ford plant in Silverton. The start of production is scheduled for next year. Ford will spend over a billion dollars to modernize its South African subsidiary: the fact is that both models are planned to be exported from there to more than 100 countries.

It is not yet known whether Russia will be among them. Information about the current generation of the Volkswagen Amarok pickup truck has been removed from the manufacturer's official website at the moment. The pickup was delivered to us from Germany and equipped with diesel engines with a capacity of 140 to 224 hp.
