A retractable turntable integrated into the glove compartment is the highlight of the Lexus IS Wax Edition concept sedan. In addition, the sedan was equipped with advanced acoustics, and the musicians recorded two singles specially for this occasion.

• The technical implementation of the project was carried out by the Los Angeles studio of creative technologies SCPS. The main problem was the need to protect the player from overloads, multidirectional accelerations and vibrations while the car was moving - this can at least knock the player's needle off the track and ruin the record.
• After a series of trial and error, the engineers managed to squeeze a full-size turntable into the compact Lexus IS glovebox. True, the player itself had to essentially be designed and built from scratch - it has a custom platform, an original tonearm and a special drive, partially made using 3D printing. In addition, carbon fiber and aluminum are used in the construction of the player.
• As a result, in the Lexus IS, if you wish, you can listen to a full-fledged 12-inch vinyl record at speeds up to 80 miles per hour (about 130 km / h), while only especially serious potholes on the roads can affect the playback quality. The sound is reproduced through a specially tuned Mark Levinson system with 17 speakers and a 1800-watt amplifier.

• The creative alliance turned to DJs and producers Madlib and Kaytranada, who agreed to take part in the project and recorded a single (Hear It and BackstABS, respectively) - they were released on one 7-inch LP. Lexus and SCPS do not intend to replicate their project: the sedan with a built-in vinyl player will remain one of a kind.
• The same fate will befall another unusual Lexus prototype - the IS sedan, turned into a "game mobile" due to a huge monitor and a chair with feedback, as well as a powerful gaming computer.
