Skod has no plans to supply the Russian market with the station wagon Octavi and the new low-cost Kushaq crossover. About this writes "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" with reference to the statement of the head of Skod in Russia Yan Prokhazka. The reasons are in finance and technology.

- The SkodOctavi station wagon will not appear on the Russian market for financial reasons. Based on the statement of Jan Prochazka, a car in a body that is not in great demand would have to be imported into our country from abroad. This would make the wagon unjustifiably expensive and, as a result, unpopular, which deprives the idea of an economic rationale.

At the same time, the motor range of the SkodOctavia liftback sold in our country will be expanded in the near future. It will receive both a more affordable engine (1.6 l, 110 hp), and the previously announced most powerful unit - a two-liter "turbo four" for 190 hp. Such Octavias will be available to Russian buyers in April. At the moment, the model is equipped with only a 150-horsepower unit with a volume of 1.4 liters paired with a six-speed "mechanics" or an eight-band "automatic" at a price of 1,443,000 rubles.
- As for the SkodKushaq crossover, presented a week ago, according to Skoda representatives, it was designed primarily for the Indian market and adapted to the requirements of this particular country, and not Russian realities. In our country, a similar niche is occupied by a slightly more compact SkodKaroq, which is sold at a price of 1,458,000 rubles for a version with a 110-horsepower engine, five-speed "mechanics" and front-wheel drive.
