Lexus does not abandon the idea of creating the flagship, largest crossover, but it will not rush with it. According to BestCarWeb, the production version of the LF-1 Limitless concept, presented in 2019, will appear on the market no earlier than 2023 and will receive not only all-wheel drive with sporty settings, but also powerful motors.

• The ultra-luxurious Lexus crossover was originally slated to hit the market in 2021. However, the company postponed the debut of a fundamental novelty - not only because of coronavirus restrictions, which complicated the development of the model as a whole, but also because of the need to perfect the new engine, which is planned to be used on the crossover. It is a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine with a planned output of 650 hp.
• It will lead the engine range of the SUV, which is expected to be called the Lexus LF (from Lexus Future). Basic versions will be equipped with a hybrid power plant based on a more compact engine - a six-cylinder 3.5-liter unit. A similar setup is already being used on the Lexus LS flagship sedan.

• The platform will also be borrowed from the sedan for the new crossover - the top version of the TNGA proprietary architecture, which is known under the designation TNGA-L. According to the publication, the length of the novelty will stretch to 5250 millimeters, which will make the crossover noticeably larger than the current Lexus LX SUV and even the current BMW X7.
• In the home market, the crossover will cost from 15 to 20 million yen (10.3-13.7 million rubles). For comparison, the price of the BMW X7 in Russia starts at 7,420,000 rubles for the version with a 340-horsepower gasoline engine, and the top-end modification, the M50i M Special (530 hp), is estimated at 11,210,000 rubles. A 557-horsepower Mercedes-Maybach GLS with a length of 5205 millimeters costs at least 16,150,000 rubles.
• Earlier it was reported that the current off-road flagship of the brand - Lexus LX - should also change a generation. The new model, as before, will be built on the platform of the new ToyotLand Cruiser, but at the same time it will be made much more luxurious than it is now. The Land Cruiser 300 is expected to debut this spring, with the new Lexus LX arriving a year later.
