Hond announced a compact robot called the Grass Miimo, which is capable of cutting grass fully automatically. Modeled after a robotic vacuum cleaner, the device can take care of a lawn area of up to 4 thousand square meters.
- The Grass Miimo is an improved version of the robotic lawnmower that Hond first showed in 2017. It can serve larger territories and is intended for owners of large land plots who would like to free themselves from this tedious duty.
- The robot is able to recognize the boundaries of the territory allotted to it (though first they have to be set) and is able to avoid collisions with obstacles. Like a home robotic vacuum cleaner, the lawnmower will automatically return to the base to recharge when the power supply runs out. Finally, Grass Miimo supports the function of starting work at a given time.
- At the same time, the robot is not able to cope with grass with a height of more than 10 centimeters, and a slope of 25 degrees will become an insurmountable obstacle for it.
The price of the new autonomous gardener has not yet been announced, although Hond has already begun accepting orders, which will only last until April 17th. As Jalopnik clarifies, the previous modification of the robotic lawnmower costs $ 2,500 (about 186 thousand rubles).
- In Russia, robots of a similar size work as couriers to deliver food. In December, the six-wheeled robot Yandex. Rover became part of the Yandex. Food service and learned how to deliver orders from restaurants. So far, however, only residents of one of the business centers of Moscow and one of the districts of Kazan can use its services.
