Citroen Has Announced A Mysterious Premiere: Perhaps It Will Be A New Sedan-crossover C5

Citroen has posted on Twitter the announcement of the mysterious premiere, which will take place on April 12. The name of the model is not mentioned, but the Motor1 edition suggests that we are talking about the new generation C5 - a model that was discontinued back in 2017.

• The illustration accompanying the announcement shows a graphic drawing, designed, apparently, to hint at the outlines of the radiator grille or the front of the future novelty as a whole. The publication saw in these strokes a resemblance to the stylistic elements of the spectacular Cxperience concept presented by the company in 2016 - it was positioned, among other things, as a hint of the future of the C5 family, which was abandoned a year later. In addition, this sketch looks like the "face" of camouflaged prototypes of the future novelty, photos of which were published by Motor1.
• Judging by them, the serial version of the Citroen C5 will turn out to be something between a sedan, a station wagon and a crossover: the junior Citroen C4 experienced a similar transformation last summer. The model will be built, as expected, on the EMP2 platform, which will make it a technical relative of the flagship of the friendly brand - the Peugeot 508.
• This implies the possibility of using hybrid units in the Citroen C5 engine range. In addition, the novelty is tipped with the "super-comfortable" suspension Progressive Hydraulic Cushions, which is already being installed on the C5 Aircross crossover.
• At the same time, Citroen does not specify whether it is about the debut of a variant prepared for mass production, or about the intention to show a pre-production prototype.
