• It was this kit for converting a Ford Model T into a snowmobile that a certain Virgil T. White invented back in 1913. He sold Ford cars in New Hampshire and in 1922 began offering his customers such "tuning kits", which included tracks for the rear wheels and skis for the front wheels. A separate kit cost $ 400, and an already modified car could be bought for $ 750.
• White himself released only about seven dozen sets, since in 1925 he sold the rights to the invention to a third-party company. After several legal transformations, the Snowmobile Company factory began to produce the kits, which collected about 3 thousand kits a year, but in 1929 it burned down. According to the seller, the typical buyers of such vehicles were private practitioners and village postmen.
• It is this Ford Model T that also features a third rear axle, which serves to increase cross-country ability and as a support for the luggage compartment. The car is equipped with a 4-cylinder engine with a volume of 177 cubic inches (2.9 liters) with 22.5 hp. and a planetary two-stage gearbox. The original snowmobile underwent a complete refurbishment in 2014.

• In December last year, the Canadian firm Envo released a similar kit - it can be used to turn a regular bicycle into a snowmobile. The rotation of the caterpillar, to which the rear wheel is changed, is handled by an electric motor.
