Motorists will be banned from driving on dedicated lanes in Moscow on weekends. This is reported by the Telegram channel of the Moscow Department of Transport. Now some of the dedicated areas work only on weekdays.

• In the message of the Department of Transport it is said that “soon all the allocated lanes will work 24/7”. At the same time, the start of the new rules will be announced separately. Now on the lanes where the signs were removed, the fines are not being written yet.
• Travel will be allowed only for urban public transport, taxis, utility vehicles and emergency vehicles. It is noted that the unified mode of operation of the dedicated lanes will help eliminate confusion and avoid accidental fines for motorists, as well as provide passengers of land transport and taxis with priority traffic even on weekends.

• According to the results of a telephone survey conducted in late May - early June 2020, 59 percent of city residents would like to see leased lines throughout the city work according to a uniform schedule, and 78 percent note the positive effect of allocated lanes on the functioning of public transport.
