Nissan 300ZX GTO Racing Car To Be Auctioned Off

An unusual lot has appeared at the Stratas Auctions in California - a Nissan 300ZX Turbo, which raced in the IMS GTO championship. These cars were driven by the Clayton Cunningam Racing team from 1989 to 1995. The model was successful: in 1989 alone, she entered the top five seven times.

• Under the hood of the car with chassis number 002 is a three-liter twin-turbo V6. According to some reports, its output was close to 700 horsepower. Power is transmitted to the rear axle through a five-speed "mechanics".
• Throughout the racing life, the car has been modified more than once. In the late eighties, the wheelbase was extended for better stability and a water-cooled braking system was added, in 1992 a passenger seat was installed and sold. Then the car began to participate in historic races. In 2008, the car was repainted in the original three-color livery, and the worn out parts were replaced with new ones.
• The car comes with a spare engine and original turbines (the car is equipped with more modern Garrett). After the sale, the old owner will help the new one with setting up the car and maintaining it.
