Volkswagen has released official images of its first electric crossover, the ID.4, in its production version - this time without any camouflage. Some characteristics of the novelty have also been announced.

• Officially, the exterior of the electric vehicle is characterized by "a combination of smooth and soft transitions with sharp and clear dividing edges." This approach provided the Volkswagen ID.4 with a drag coefficient of 0.28.

• Thoughtful aerodynamics at Volkswagen is called one of the factors that determine the crossover's range. It has been confirmed that some modifications of the ID.4 will be able to travel more than 500 kilometers on a single charge on a WLTP cycle.

  • Earlier it was reported that VW ID.4 will receive both single-engine modifications and versions with two engines and, accordingly, all-wheel drive. It was officially announced that the launch of the new product on the market will begin with crossovers with one motor on the rear axle - it is expected that they will be more "long-range", but at the same time more affordable than all-wheel drive.
  • The production of the electric SUV in Zwickau for the European markets has already started. The premiere of the serial VW ID.4 is scheduled for the end of September.
