Engines For The "Russian Prado" From UAZ Are Declassified In The Photo. One Of Them Is Turbocharged

The patents for two new ZMZ engines have been published by the Federal Intellectual Property Service. The atmospheric engine and the turbocharged engine will presumably be equipped with the UAZ SUV, now known as the Russian Prado.

• The declared power of the 2.5-liter aspirated engine is 145 hp, which is 5 forces less than the current 2.7-liter ZMZ Pro, which is installed on modern Patriots. The refinement of the engine compared to the current one allowed to reduce not only the working volume, but also the amount of harmful emissions.
• The turbocharged engine has a smaller working volume - 2.3 liters, from which it is planned to remove 150 or 170 hp. In this case, the layout of the motor as a whole coincides with the atmospheric unit.
• It is not worth waiting for the use of new units on serial UAZ SUVs in the near future. According to Drom, the development of the engines is still in full swing, so they will debut only in 2021 - most likely, together with the "Russian Prado", which is expected to be a seriously redesigned UAZ Patriot. During the fine-tuning process, the working volume of both engines can be unified.

• The new UAZ SUV will be built on the basis of a newly created frame with independent suspension at the front and a continuous axle with springs at the rear. "Russian Prado" will receive a part-time all-wheel drive system with an electronic imitation of a rear differential lock, an original exterior in the style of the current Patriots and a completely redesigned interior with a new center console, steering wheel and seats.
