Maserati will replace Ferrari's 3.8-liter V8 with a proprietary engine that develops nearly 600 horsepower.

The injection of the main part of the fuel-air mixture into the combustion chamber occurs in advance, while a small charge remains in the prechamber, which is ignited by a spark and sent to the main chamber, igniting the mixture in it. This layer-by-layer ignition of the mixture allows it to be fed in small portions in the form of vortices, improving the combustion process, shifting the knock onset threshold and increasing the engine output.
• Obviously, one of the first carriers of the new engine will be the Maserati MC20 supercar, which is preparing for mass production. In the future, other models of the company will receive it, including the large GranTurismo coupe and the next-generation GranCabrio convertible, as well as the current Quattroporte sedans and the Levante crossover.
• On the large Quattroporte sedan and the Levante crossover, the engine is expected to produce 580 and 530 hp. accordingly. In the 530-horsepower version, it is planned to install it on the promising mid-size SUV, which will be located one step below the Levante. The debut of this model will take place in the next few years.
