Dieter Trzaska, head of the German firm LadDeutschland, which is the distributor of AvtoVAZ in the European Union, created a petition on the local Campact portal demanding the return of Lad cars to the European market. The deliveries of Russian cars stopped in March.

- In the document, LadDeutschland refers to the popularity of the Lada brand, acquired over 40 years, as well as the growth in the number of car dealerships selling new cars. At the time of publication, the petition had collected 1,065 signatures. It is directed to AvtoVAZ, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance of which the automaker is affiliated, as well as to the Ministry of Economic Development and the Embassy of the Russian Federation.
- The new petition turned out to be much more popular than a similar document registered by a resident of Malta, Oswald Galea, at the international Change.org. Only 74 people agreed with his demands not only to resume sales of Ladas in Europe, but also to start production of right-hand drive modifications for Great Britain.

The reason for the departure of the Lads brand from the European Union market was the refusal of expensive modifications of engines to meet the strict environmental standard of Euro 6d emission standards. Renault has decided to keep only the Dacia brand in the budget segment of Europe, and to reduce emissions, the new Logan and Sandero models will receive hybrid power plants.
