Maltese resident Oswald Galea launched a petition on Change.org demanding the resumption of sales of new Lad cars in the European Union. It turned out to be not very popular: only 65 people signed the document in a week.

  • A fan of Lada said that over 40 years of the brand's presence in all European countries, a large number of loyal customers have accumulated who have fallen in love with affordable and interesting Russian cars. At the same time, he demanded that right-hand drive Lada be returned to the UK: AvtoVAZ stopped producing such modifications in 1997, when it left the local market.
  • Oswald addressed the petition to five companies - AvtoVAZ itself, Renault (it owns the Russian automaker), and other members of the alliance: Nissan, Mitsubishi and Dacia. Everyone left it unanswered.

Earlier, the German firm LadDeutschland, which is the distributor of AvtoVAZ in Europe, reported that the last delivery of new Russian cars was sent to the European Union in March. The brand left due to tightening of environmental standards for emissions. Now in the budget segment of the region, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance offers only Dacia cars.
