Nissan-owned Infiniti has revealed details of a new development strategy that will cut costs. The brand, unlike the budget brand Datsun, will remain on the Russian market.

- Infiniti is leaving the entire European region for better development in North America, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, China and Russia. In 2019, the brand announced its withdrawal from the Western European market, as for 11 years it has not achieved success in this part of the planet.
- All new Infiniti models will be built exclusively on Nissan platforms. This decision was influenced by the disastrous sales of the Q30 / QX30 hatchbacks, developed on the basis of the Mercedes-Benz GLA crossover. Future novelties of the brand will receive their own design, more expensive trim and the e-Power hybrid power plant, which is equipped with new Nissan.

Two Infiniti models will debut by the end of 2020. The first to be declassified is the coupe-like version of the QX50 crossover, which will receive the QX55 index. Then there will be a second-generation seven-seater QX60 based on the new Nissan Pathfinder. Prototypes of the latter are still undergoing pre-production tests.
