The Chinese National Patent Office has released images of the two new Toyota models. According to Autohome, these are two electric crossovers that are built on the new e-TNGA platform.
The compact Toyot all-terrain vehicle has short overhangs, massive black wheel arches and unusual triangular embossing on the rear doors. It is equipped with specially designed wheels that improve the aerodynamics of the car, and cameras instead of rear-view mirrors.
The larger model received a two-piece silhouette with a long hood. It also features a two-tone paint job, C-shaped narrow lights and rear-view cameras mounted on the top of the A-pillars.
Toyot plans to create at least six models on the e-TNG platform by 2025 for the global market. The compact crossover will be developed in conjunction with Suzuki, and the larger SUV will be built with Subaru. It is not known whether the serial versions will receive the appearance as on the copies of the patent.
By 2030, Toyot expects to sell one million electric and hydrogen vehicles each year, as well as 4.5 million hybrid vehicles. Daihatsu and Mazda are partners in the creation of other electric vehicles.
