The German studio infinitas, founded by the team from G-Power, has announced the creation of the Hurricane 2 project, built on the basis of the BMW M5. On this model, the tuners plan to set a speed record for sedans with access to regular roads. To do this, they need to accelerate faster than 379 km / h, which the prototype of the electric Lucid Air reached in 2017.

-
Infinitas installed new turbochargers, an intake and exhaust system, and a modified control program on the 4.4 V8 biturbo. As a result, the power has increased from 600 hp. (750 Nm) up to over 1000 hp. (1200 Nm). Acceleration time to 100 km / h decreased from 3.4 to 2.5 seconds.
- Additionally, the tuners put a ventilated hood, a splitter and lightweight wheels on the Hurricane 2. During 2020, the sedan will receive new brakes, an upgraded suspension and a redesigned interior.
- The tuners have not announced a date for a future record attempt. However, they have already begun accepting orders for converting the BMW M5 into infinitas Hurricane 2 - the conversion is estimated at 100,000 euros (7.8 million rubles) excluding the cost of the car itself. Additionally, the company is ready to build a Hurricane 2 Touring station wagon based on the usual BMW 5 Series, installing the filling from the M5 sedan into the car. Such a five-door will accelerate to "hundreds" in 2.7 seconds.

The Infinitas Hurricane 2 is the successor to the G-Power M5 Hurricane RR based on the BMW M5 E60. In 2010, the sedan with a 900-horsepower 5.0 V10 compressor set a speed record for a four-door with road access, reaching 372.1 km / h.
