The average price of an OSAGO policy decreased in 46 out of 85 constituent entities of Russia for the period from January 1 to June 10, 2020. According to the Russian Union of Auto Insurers (RSA), 53% of all car owners in the country live in these regions.
- For example, in St. Petersburg the average cost of compulsory motor third party liability insurance decreased by 0.6% (by 45 rubles, from 7658 to 7613 rubles). In the Sverdlovsk Oblast, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan, Rostov, Chelyabinsk and Nizhny Novgorod Oblasts, the average premium has decreased by 1–2.8% (from 52 to 165 rubles). These subjects are among the ten leading regions in terms of the number of car owners living in them.
- At the same time, the cost of compulsory insurance increased in Moscow (by 133 rubles, from 8316 to 8448 rubles), the Moscow region (144 rubles, from 6839 to 6982 rubles) and the Krasnodar Territory (245 rubles, from 5540 to 5785 rubles). In the PCA, this is explained by the unprofitability of insurance companies in these regions and the high risks of payment fraud.
On August 24, the law on the individualization of OSAGO tariffs will come into force, according to which the cost of the policy will increase for gross violators of traffic rules. These include drivers who repeatedly receive fines throughout the year for speeding more than 60 km / h, running at a red light, entering the oncoming lane and drunk driving.
