Mazda Put Its "face" On An Isuzu Pickup Truck

Mazd introduced the third generation BT-50 pickup truck. Previously, the model was a facelifted version of the Ford Ranger, but now it is based on the Isuzu D-Max.

• The BT-50 differs from the D-Max in the front end of the body, made in the style of the CX-9 crossover, as well as a slightly modified shape of the lanterns. Inside, the novelty has its own front panel, but a lot of details from the "donor". For example, the nine-inch screen of the multimedia system, the climate control unit and the buttons on the steering wheel.
• MazdBT-50, with a length of 5280 mm, a width of 1870 mm, a height of 1790 mm and a wheelbase of 3125 mm, almost coincides with the Isuzu model. The design of the novelty is traditional for pickups. It is based on a spar frame, in the front there is a spring suspension, and in the back there is a spring suspension. The carrying capacity is one ton, and the maximum weight of the towed trailer is 3.5 tonnes.
• The BT-50 is powered only by a three-liter Isuzu turbodiesel with 190 hp. (450 Nm). The engine is combined with six-speed gearboxes ("mechanics" or "automatic"). The drive can be either rear-wheel drive or full.
• The pickup's list of safety systems includes adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, lane keeping, and blind spot monitoring with rear interference warning when reversing out of a parking lot.

• Production of the MazdBT-50 will be established in Thailand next to its sister Isuzu. In the local market, as well as in Australia, the novelty will appear in the second half of 2020.
