Kaliningrad plant "Avtotor" will suspend the production of BMW cars due to a lack of components. Ruslan Sadyko, the general director of the enterprise, told TASS that the conveyors will not work from mid-June to early July, and the problem with parts will be completely resolved by the end of next month.

- Avtotor had to stop assembling cars due to the spring quarantine at BMW factories in Europe and the United States in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. This disrupted supply chains, and the Kaliningrad enterprise was left without part of the components. During the stop, the equipment will be serviced at Avtotor.
- The Kaliningrad plant was already idle from March 28 to April 13 during the non-working day regime introduced in Russia. Despite the continuation of this period until May 10, the company received permission from the local authorities to resume production while observing safety measures for employees.

Now the capacity of BMW at Avtotor is 70 percent loaded. The enterprise assembles sedans of the 3rd, 5th and 7th series, as well as crossovers X1, X3, X4, X5, X6 and X7. The assembly is carried out by a large-knot method from ready-made machine kits.
