From July 1, 2020, 51-year-old Ralph Brandstätter will become Volkswagen CEO. Since 2018, he has been the Chief Operating Officer of the brand. He will replace Herbert Diess, who is also the head of the entire Volkswagen Group. Now Diss will pay more attention to the concern.

Ralph Brandstatter
  • Ralf Brandstätter, an engineer by training, has been with Volkswagen since 1993. In 1998, he became Head of Purchasing for Chassis and Powertrain Components and, since 2005, has been in charge of all purchasing at Seat. In 2015, he joined the board of directors of the concern.
  • First of all, Brandstätter will have to deal with the electronics problems of the ID.3 hatchback, due to which sales of the electric vehicle may be postponed. He also needs to finally settle all claims with the customers affected by the diesel gate.
Herbert Diess
  • Volkswagen plans to sell at least 1.5 million all-electric vehicles by 2025. For this, in the coming years, many electric cars will be released under the ID sub-brand.
