Video: Kia Optima Next Generation Certified In & Nbsp; Russia With & Nbsp; New Name
Ki has announced the completion of the Russian certification of the K5 sedan. It used to be called the Optima outside of South Korea, but now the automaker intends to use the index in all markets. Previously, the flagship sedan of the Quoris brand was renamed K900 in a similar way.
In Russia, at the start of sales, KiK5 will be offered with two gasoline aspirated engines - a two-liter with a capacity of 150 hp. (192 Nm) with distributed injection, which was also installed on the previous generation model, as well as with a new 2.5 engine. The older engine has direct injection and develops 194 hp. (246 Nm).
- Unlike the Optima, the KiK5 is not equipped with a manual transmission. The two-liter engine is paired with a six-speed "automatic", and 2.5 - with an eight-speed. It is not yet known whether the top version of the GT will appear in Russia. In the home market, it is equipped with a 2.5-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 290 hp. (422 Nm) with combined fuel injection, eight-speed "robot" with two clutches and all-wheel drive.
- The KiK5 sedan is built on a new platform, which was the first to receive the four-door Hyundai Sonata. Compared to the Optima, the K5 is 50 millimeters longer (4905 mm), the wheelbase has increased by 45 mm (up to 2850 mm), the width has not changed (1860 mm), and the height has decreased by 20 mm (up to 1445 mm).
At the online premiere of KiXCeed, the Russian office of the brand announced that KiK5 sales in our country will begin during 2020. The exact date, as well as the configuration and cost of the sedan have not yet been announced.
