Hyundai Santa Fe Has A Major Update: A New Platform, Push-button "automatic" And Hybrids

The fourth-generation Hyundai SantFe crossover is only two years old, but the Korean automaker has already carried out a major upgrade. The novelty has changed a lot externally, but even more technically.

• With the modernization, Hyundai SantFe moved to a new third generation platform, unified with KiSorento and Hyundai Sonata. It differs from the previous "bogie" by a reconfigured steering system, improved noise and vibration isolation, a higher level of safety, a lower center of gravity, as well as new hybrid versions - standard and rechargeable from an external network. Technical details at Hyundai will be revealed at a later date.
• The grille of the updated Hyundai SantFe is combined with the headlights, and the LED running lights are T-shaped. At the back, the reflector stretched out to the full width of the bumper and a diode jumper appeared between the lights. The lining around the body can now be either black or painted in body color. Added to the list of options are 20-inch wheels (the previous maximum is 19 inches).
• The new central tunnel received a push-button selector for automatic transmission, like the Hyundai Sonata sedan. On the climate control unit, the joysticks were replaced by washers, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a new 10.25-inch multimedia display and a drive mode selection washer appeared in the equipment. The electronics have seven preset options: automatic, economical, sporty, comfortable, as well as for sand, snow, mud and automatic.

• The start of sales of the updated Hyundai SantFe in South Korea will take place during June, and the crossover will reach Europe in September. When the new product will appear on the Russian market is still unknown.
