BMW has officially unveiled the next generation 4 Series Coupe. The two-door is built on the "three-wheel" base and has a similar interior, but this time the coupe has received a radically new appearance with giant "nostrils" of the radiator grille and the area for the license plate inside them.

• Compared to the "four" of the previous generation, the new product is 128 mm longer (4768 mm), 27 mm wider (1852 mm) and 6 mm higher (1383 mm), and the wheelbase has increased by 41 mm (2851 mm). The drag coefficient decreased from 0.29 to 0.25. For comparison: in the 3 Series sedan, this figure is 0.23. The diameter of the rims is 18 or 19 inches.
• Compared to the "three-ruble" BMW, the 4 Series has a more rigid body with additional reinforcements under the hood, on the bottom and at the attachment points of the suspension elements. The coupe's center of gravity is 21mm lower than the sedan, and two suspension options (standard and M Sport) have been redesigned for the shock absorbers.
• In Europe, the petrol top version of the M440i and all diesel modifications have got an 11-horsepower starter-generator powered by a 48-volt network and helps with acceleration. On the Russian market, the coupe is devoid of this hybrid surcharge - we will have two petrol and diesel versions each.

• In Russia, the base is the rear-wheel drive modification 420i with a petrol "turbo four" with a capacity of 184 hp. (300 Nm) and acceleration to 100 km / h in 7.5 seconds. Diesel 2.0 190 hp (400 Nm) comes with rear (420d, 7.2 seconds to "hundreds") or all-wheel drive (420d xDrive, 7.5 seconds). The all-wheel drive version of the BMW M440i xDrive is equipped with a petrol three-liter "turbo-six" with 387 hp. (500 Nm) - it takes only 4.5 seconds to accelerate to 100 km / h.
• All engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. For the first time in a BMW in a Quartet, it is equipped with the new Sprint function, which modifies engine characteristics and reduces gear change times to improve overtaking dynamics.

• The basic BMW 4 Series coupe has LED optics, an aerodynamic M body kit, a combined leatherette and Alcantara interior trim, three-tone climate control and multimedia with an 8.8-inch screen and six speakers.
• Options include laser headlights, adaptive dampers, active cruise control with traffic jam assist, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Harman / Kardon audio system, advanced multimedia with 10.25-inch monitor and Drive Recorder that records 40 -second video from all-round cameras.

Sales of the new BMW 4 Series in Russia will start on 24 October. Modification 420i costs at least 3,130,000 rubles, 420d - 3,150,000 rubles, 420d xDrive - 3,290,000 rubles, M440i xDrive - 4,550,000 rubles. Compared to the 3 series sedan, the surcharge for a two-door body and an unusual appearance will range from 290,000 to 390,000 rubles.
