Toyot has decided to completely change the Land Cruiser Prado, turning the frame SUV into a crossover with a monocoque body and a continuously variable transmission. This became known to the Autohome edition.

- ToyotLand Cruiser Prado of the new generation will be built on the modular TNGA architecture, which is used by all the latest cars of the company. The new Prado will be 10 millimeters (4830 mm) shorter, but 25 mm (1880 mm) wider and 5 mm (1850 mm) taller than its predecessor. The wheelbase will increase by 10 mm (2800 mm).
- Land Cruiser Prado will be equipped with an aspirated 2.5 petrol with 205 hp. (250 Nm). Also for the model will be available 177-horsepower turbodiesel 2.8 (450 Nm), offered for the current Prado. All versions will receive a CVT and four-wheel drive.

As now, Toyot will offer the Land Cruiser Prado with a five- and seven-seat layout (in Russia, the SUV is available with only two rows of seats). The equipment will include a variety of driver assistance assistants, including automatic parking and lane keeping, interior backlights, digital instrument cluster and large-screen multimedia system.
- The new generation ToyotLand Cruiser Prado is expected to premiere in August 2022. In Japan, the petrol version will cost 3.5-4.4 million yen (2.3-2.9 million rubles), and the diesel version - 4-5.5 million yen (2.6-3.6 million rubles).
According to other rumors, the flagship ToyotLand Cruiser 300 will retain the frame structure, but V8 engines will disappear from the engine range. They will be replaced by a new diesel "turbo-six", a petrol 3.5 V6 with two turbines and a hybrid, which will include a petrol aspirated 3.5 V6 and an electric motor. According to the latest data, it will premiere in the summer of 2021.
