Nissan has announced a major restructuring that will cut annual vehicle production and model numbers by 20 percent. At the same time, 12 new products of the brand will debut in the next year and a half, and all of them are shown in a special video.
- For a few seconds, new generations of the Qashqai, X-Trail and Pathfinder crossovers, the Note compact van, and the American Frontier pickup appeared on the video. For the longest time, the video showed the successor to the Nissan 370Z, which has been produced since 2009. The new coupe is styled after the original 1969 240Z two-door, confirming the latest rumors. Judging by them, the new Nissan Z series will receive a three-liter "six" with two turbines from the top version of the Infiniti Q60, where the engine develops 405 hp. (475 Nm). On Nissan, it will be combined with a choice of nine-speed "automatic" or "mechanics". Later there will be a version of Nismo with a return of about 500 forces.
- The Russian office of Nissan confirmed that all models on our market will be updated or replaced by a generation by 2023. Now in Russia crossovers Terrano, Qashqai, X-Trail and Murano are offered. Passenger models of the brand will not return to us, and in December 2020, production of Datsun on-Do sedans in Togliatti will be completed along with mi-Do hatchbacks, and the budget sub-brand itself will leave the Russian market.
- In the global market, Nissan will cut its global lineup from 69 to fewer than 55 models and cut annual production from 7.2 million to 5.4 million.
