New VW Jetta In Russia Turned Out To Be More Expensive Than Most Competitors

Volkswagen has revealed the cost of the seventh generation Jett sedan for the Russian market. Cars will be delivered to our country from Mexico.

The base engine for the Volkswagen Jett is a 1.6-liter aspirated 110 hp. It is supplied to Mexico from the Russian VW plant and can be equipped with either a five-speed "mechanics" (from RUB 1,485,000) or a six-speed automatic transmission (from RUB 1,545,000). Only "automatic" is combined with a 150-horsepower 1.4 turbo engine (from 1,860,000 rubles).

Jetta's competitors in Russia are cheaper. For example, for a KiCerato assembled in Russia with a 1.6 engine of 128 hp. with a six-speed "automatic" they ask for a minimum of 1,204,900 rubles, and with a 150-horsepower two-liter engine - 1,249,900 rubles. Toyot is selling a four-door Corolla assembled in Turkey for 1,243,000 rubles in a version with a 1.6 engine with 122 hp. and six-speed "mechanics". And only the Japanese-assembled Mazda3 sedan with a 120-horsepower 1.5 and a six-speed "automatic" is more expensive - 1,570,000 rubles.

• The new Jetta is available in three trim levels. The initial Origin (from $ 1,485,000) is equipped with 16-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, six airbags, stabilization system, cruise control, fabric-trimmed seats, air conditioning, heated front seats and multimedia with a 6.5-inch screen.
• The Respect version (from RUB 1,630,000) includes 16-inch alloy wheels, a keyless entry system, a rain sensor, fog lights, parking sensors "in a circle", dual-zone climate control, heated steering wheel and interior background lighting.

• The top version of Status (from 1 795 000 ₽) has 17-inch wheels, a rear-view camera, leather interior, an electric driver's seat, a digital instrument panel, a multimedia system with an eight-inch display and heated all seats. On sedans with a turbo engine (it is available only in the older configuration), adaptive cruise control is also installed.

Volkswagen's Russian dealerships are already taking orders for the new Jetta. The first cars will appear at the end of June.
