New VW Polo For Russia: Prices Announced

Volkswagen has begun accepting orders for a new generation Polo for Russia. The model has become a liftback, having received a modified body from SkodRapid. Both five-doors are produced in Kaluga.

The new Volkswagen Polo is offered with atmospheric 1.6 90 and 110 forces, as well as with a 125-horsepower 1.4 turbo engine. The weakest unit is combined only with a five-speed "mechanics", and for a 110-horsepower engine, in addition to a manual box, a six-speed "automatic" is provided. The turbo engine is available exclusively with a seven-speed robotic transmission with two clutches.

• The Polo liftback is available in four trim levels. The base Origin (from 792 900 ₽) has LED headlights and lights, 15-inch steel wheels, stabilization system, tire pressure monitoring function, two airbags, power windows for all doors and a multimedia system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen display and connector USB-C.

• The Respect version (from 837 900 ₽) adds electrically adjustable heated rear-view mirrors, heated windshield washer nozzles, air conditioning and heated front seats.

• The Status package (from 971 900 ₽) is not available for the 90-strong version. It features 15-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, heated leather steering wheel, auto-dimming interior mirror, center armrest on the second row and single-zone climate control.
• The top version of Exclusive (from 1,111,900 rubles) includes chrome decorative elements, keyless entry, electric heated windshield, front and rear parking sensors, rain and light sensors, a 10.25-inch digital dashboard and an eight-inch multimedia screen.
• Separately, you will have to pay extra for the driver fatigue recognition system, alarm, rear wiper, heated second-row seats and additional airbags (there may be six of them in total).

For comparison: the SkodRapid soplatform liftback in the base is cheaper than the Polo by only 900 rubles (792,000), and the initial 100-horsepower Hyundai Solaris costs 27,900 rubles less (765,000 rubles). A new generation of Volkswagen Polo will appear at Russian dealers in the summer of 2020.
