Video: Armored Alfa Romeo, Driven By Mafiosi, Sold For A Modest Sum

On the Bring Trailer website, an auction for the sale of an AlfRomeo Alfett2000 with bullet protection has ended. For a unique modification of the 1980 sedan, the buyer paid $ 11,750 (867 thousand rubles).

-
The car was bought by a new member of the Italian mafia Francesco Muto, nicknamed "Franco". The mafiosi turned to an armored vehicle specialist, who installed protective plates on the body and doors, additional glass, bulletproof wheels, additional door locks and a radio station. All this added 590 kilograms of mass (the sedan "recovered" to 1730 kilograms).
- Outside, the armored car is no different from the standard, outwardly quite utilitarian sedan. The mileage of the car is 12 792 kilometers, and to this day the car has been preserved in a completely original condition.
- Technically, the bulletproof AlfRomeo has not changed: the four-door has a 121-horsepower two-liter "four" with two carburetors and a five-speed "mechanics". The Alfett model itself was produced from 1972 to 1984, and in total more than 400,000 copies were produced.
