Tuning cars has long ceased to be a strange hobby of automobile geeks and turned into a huge industry with its own history, geography, rules and class distribution. However, all this is more applicable to European countries, the United States and Japan. In Russia, alas, there are not many high-profile and complex projects, but they still exist. Today we recall ten that impressed us the most.
A large-scale copy of the Volga M-21 on a Porsche Cayenne Turbo chassis with a 450-horsepower engine and air suspension was built by specialists from Cardi and Russian Automotive Design back in 2007.
Although the car looks like a real "Volga" of the first series with a star on the radiator grill, it practically does not use parts from the original Soviet sedan. The GAZ model was carefully measured on a laser stand, after which the resulting 3D model was accurately and proportionally increased in size.
The new body panels were made of fiberglass. The steel body frame, which was spliced with the chassis of the German crossover, was preliminarily subjected to strength analysis. The radiator grille was cast in brass using an investment wax model.
The instrument cluster in the style of the original Volgovskaya is redesigned, but based on Cayenne components. And the air suspension control unit was hidden in the center armrest. There are even rims with a central part in the shape of a five-pointed star.
The first Bilenkin Vintage coupes were built in 2015 and presented at the Dubai International Motor Show. The model is based on the BMW 3 Series coupe in the back of the E92 - the Belenkin coupe retains the power frame, but most of the "donor" units are changed to new factory ones. At the request of the client, the car can be built from any modification of the two-door "three", even from the M3. Only the appearance changes radically.
The design process followed all the rules of the global automotive industry - with numerous sketches (the design of the model was inspired by the style of the Volvo 1800 S model), 3D modeling and the construction of a full-size plasticine model. The molds for the new body parts are made on CNC machines, and they themselves are made of fiberglass. The interior also received a rich design in the style of retro cars, which can be finished according to your desire using almost any material.
At the start of sales, each car cost 130,000 euros - 10.4 million rubles at the current exchange rate, but the final price can increase many times, depending on the wishes of the customer.
ZIL 157 "Lumberjack"
A giant pickup truck based on an all-wheel drive ZIL? This was built by the workshop Dr. Broman`s place. Even two! The first copy was completed in 2015, and work on the second was completed in 2017.
At the heart of the car is a modified frame from the GAZ-66 truck. Bridges and other suspension elements were taken from him. The cab is borrowed from the early three-axle all-wheel drive ZIL-157. An American V8 with an automatic transmission has settled under the hood. The interior remained zilovsky, but the chairs were replaced with more comfortable ones. The body was welded original, in the style of American pickups of the fifties.
Naturally, the creators of the project were in a creative search for some time. So, first, a 5.2-liter V8 engine got on the "Lumberjack", and then it was changed to a unit with a working volume of 7.4 liters! We approve of such searches.
To turn an elderly, still Soviet "eight" into a tool for drag racing competitions? It's easier to teach a cat to make chicken fricassee! It may be simpler, but the super-powerful drag G8 was built after all!
A car with a capacity of 1100 hp. belongs to a resident of Rostov-on-Don, Vladimir Tretyak, the owner of the Clubturbo company, which assembles racing cars and sells tuning components.Vladimir himself professionally races in a straight line. 2108 was built for these purposes in 2017, and, according to the owner, this monster accelerates from standstill to 250 km / h in 9.3 seconds. That is, faster than most business sedans are gaining a hundred!
The mad "eight" is on sale right now on Avto.ru. They ask for a car of 13,000,000 rubles.
Audi RS7 Seven Force
The Moscow tuning studio Seven Force set out to increase the engine power of the Audi RS7 liftback to 1500 hp. The creators of the project plan to measure such figures on the flywheel and using racing fuel, as well as water methanol.
The standard 4.0 TFSI engine - this in stock produces 560 hp. - received turbines of increased performance, a new release and a control unit that did not care about environmental standards, chokes with an increased diameter and an improved cooling system.
However, at the moment the project is still under construction. But the creators already have experience squeezing 1100 forces out of the Audi engine: this unit was under the hood of the RS6 station wagon. It remains only to wish the guys success.
Lamborghini Huracan "Mace"
The portfolio of the GoshaTurboTech atelier already had a super-powerful Lamborghini: within the framework of the Huracán GTT900 TwinTurbo project, the power of the Italian supercar was brought to 1500 hp by the Russian tuning masters! But this is not a reason to stop there? Therefore, GTT built a 2000 hp Huracan, but the owner decided that more power and speed were needed. Therefore, the restructuring of the Italian supercar, also known as the Bulava, continued.
The project is named after a domestic solid-state ballistic missile. Thanks to the high-performance Precision Turbo 8891 turbines, its output is planned to be increased to 3000 hp! Yes, it didn't seem to you: like 20 LadVestSport sedans! In order for the units to withstand such unthinkable indicators, the factory clutch, gearbox and drives had to be abandoned.
Even wheel hubs should be special for such a car: factory ones can simply collapse from loads that have increased several times! And the wheels themselves had to be replaced: ordinary wheels and tires simply do not allow the full potential of the power unit to be realized in a racing mode, even without a glued drag strip.
A carbon fiber safety cage was installed in the car, but the interior trim is planned to remain the same. The ideologists of the project are planning to participate in numerous drag racing competitions and speed festivals. Which is logical: otherwise why would a car have 3000 horsepower ?!
Nissan Juke R SVEngineering
At one time, Nissan itself dared to "cover" the chassis of the supercar Nissan GT-R with a body from the compact urban crossover Juke. The project was implemented with the support of the British motorsport company RML, which builds professional cars for the WTCC and BTCC touring competitions.
The first prototypes with a 485-horsepower V6 were assembled in 2011. The car was released in a small series of 21 copies, and in 2016 version 2.0 appeared - with a 600-horsepower engine. Russian engineers from the St. Petersburg racing team with the provocative name "Spilli Willie Engineering" decided to follow the example of "Nissan" and built their own "recharged" Juke, which is cooler than the factory one!
The car was also equipped with a V6 3.8 from the GT-R, but its power was significantly increased: when using nitrous oxide, it reaches 1000 hp. Such a Juke can accelerate up to "hundreds" in 2.5 seconds, and cover a quarter mile in 10.1 seconds. At the same time, in contrast to the "factory" Juke R, which is suitable for everyday use, the creation of the Russian team is primarily tailored for participation in competitions. However, this does not prevent the frenzied crossover from driving on normal roads. But the chances of meeting him on the racetrack are much higher.
So, for example, the car went to the Nurburgring and participated in countless drag competitions, including the Russian Unlim500 +, where it even raced about the Bugatti Veyron! Guess who won the quarter mile?
McLaren 720S Fury
Tuning studios that design exclusive exterior and interior trims for powerful and fast cars are widespread in Europe. Experts in this area were also found in Russia. TopCar specializes in the exterior trim of most fast and powerful cars: its portfolio includes body kits for Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Lamborghini - that is, for all top sports and supercars.
But the recently presented Fury project based on the British supercar McLaren 720S is called by the specialists of the Russian tuning company one of the most difficult in its history. Still, because the two-door received an exclusive carbon body kit, consisting of 50 unique parts!
And all the components were left unpainted, which only enhances the cool effect. Plus, the supercar was equipped with forged wheels and new interior trim in body color. The power unit was not touched. However, 720 runoff forces should be enough in any situation.
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8
The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 of 2008 and the guy himself is not a mistake: with his 425 hp. and accelerating to "hundreds" in five seconds, even today it could terrify lovers of traffic light sprints. However, in the hands of an enthusiastic owner who does not tire of tweaking it, a fast Jeep can turn into a real monster.
This is exactly what happened with this specimen, which has been continuously improved throughout its long life. The standard engine under its hood was replaced by a new unit with a working volume of seven liters. The increase in power went in stages: it all started with 530, then there were 650, a little later 750, after 988 "horses" … As a result, the output of the motor with a high-performance drive supercharger was increased to 1238 hp!
At the same time, just sit down, the concept of this car is for the soul and … for every day! Therefore, the life of the "grand" turned out to be stormy, including long trips. In 2017, the car got into an unpleasant story - it overturned on its side. However, the owner found positive even in this: the car was restored, and at the same time it changed its color.
BMW X5M Ramon Performance Patron
Another representative of the tribe of tuned crossovers with a power of "per thousand" - this BMW X5 Patron from the Russian tuning center Ramon Performance. To prevent the engine from chewing on itself, it was equipped with forged pistons and connecting rods, as well as larger intercoolers from the BMW M5 F90.
The working volume has increased from 4.4 to 5.0 liters. Also for this project, the company has modified the intake system with zero resistance and air ducts made of carbon. There's an Acrapovic exhaust system and the direct culprit for 1000+ horsepower is the big BorgWarner turbochargers. And so that all this splendor can turn and slow down, put on carbon-ceramic brakes and new suspension elements.
At the same time, the gearbox remained standard. According to the manufacturer, it is able to "digest" up to 1400 Nm of torque, which gives this X5. On a sweet tooth - dynamic characteristics: up to 100 km / h such a BMW is capable of accelerating in 2.8 seconds, and after another 5.1 seconds it overcomes the 200 km / h mark.
