  • Opel Mokk will replace the GammII platform of the American concern GM with the French CMP (Common Modular Platform), due to which the curb weight will immediately decrease by 120 kilograms while increasing the torsional rigidity of the body by 30%. The creators promise that the noise level in the cabin will also be significantly reduced.

  • According to auto motor und sport, technically Mokka will repeat the platform hatchback Opel Cors and the Peugeot 2008 crossover. The novelty will receive a three-cylinder petrol turbo engine 1.2, a 1.5-liter turbodiesel "four" and an all-electric version with 136 forces and a power reserve of 320 kilometers. Unlike the first generation Opel Mokk, the new crossover will not be equipped with all-wheel drive.
  • Serial production of all versions of the Opel Mokka, including the electric one, will start in the fourth quarter of 2020. Crossover sales in Europe will start in early 2021.

In Russia, the original Mokk crossover was sold until 2015, when Opel stopped selling in the country. In December 2019, the company, which came under the wing of the PSA alliance, returned to the Russian market with the Grandland X crossover (co-platform Peugeot 3008) and the ZafirLife minibus (redesigned Peugeot Traveler). By the end of this year, Opel plans to expand the range to six models.
