Video: Tesla Started Making Cars Despite The Ban. Musk Offered To Arrest Himself

Tesl CEO Elon Musk said on Twitter that the company has resumed production of electric vehicles at its Fremont plant. Earlier, the authorities of the Californian County of Alameda, in which the enterprise is located, imposed a ban on this due to the coronavirus pandemic. The businessman offered to arrest himself for violating the ban.

- Tesl has filed a lawsuit against Alameda County because local officials at the last minute pushed the date for lifting restrictions related to the pandemic from May 8 to June 1. The automaker's lawyers are asking to declare these actions illegal.
- According to Electrek, the resumption of production of electric vehicles happened at night and took place in a hurry. Only a part of the plant employees received personal protective equipment, while others were asked to bring their own masks and gloves from home.
-
California law stipulates a fine of up to one thousand dollars a day (73.4 thousand rubles) or up to 90 days in prison for violating sanitary regulations. It is not yet known what the officials will do with Tesla.
- In addition, Elon Musk threatened to move Tesl's headquarters and factory to another state. The company is now the only carmaker based in California. Representatives from Texas, Georgia, Utah, Oklahoma and Nevada have already approached Musk with their proposals.
