Mercedes-Benz has presented a new basic modification of the CLS sedan, indexed 260. For the first time in history, the model has acquired a 1.5-liter engine.



- The M264 four-cylinder turbo engine had its displacement reduced from 1991 to 1497 cubic centimeters, so the power dropped from 258 hp. (370 Nm) up to 184 hp (280 Nm). The engine is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and a 48-volt EQ Boost starter-generator that adds 14 hp. (150 Nm).

Rear-wheel drive CLS 260 accelerates to 100 km / h in 8.7 seconds - this is the slowest modification in the lineup. The maximum speed of the novelty is 250 km / h.
- The new modification was created specifically for China, where the tax rate for cars with an engine capacity of more than 1.5 liters is almost doubled. However, the Mercedes-Benz CLS is produced only in Germany and high import duties apply for the sedan. Therefore, the CLS 260 costs 576,800 yuan (6.1 million rubles).
In Russia, the base is a turbodiesel Mercedes-Benz CLS 350d with a 249-horsepower inline-six 3.0. It costs 5,140,000 rubles. The petrol CLS 350 comes with a 299-horsepower two-liter "turbo four" and costs 5,250,000 rubles.
