Return Of Chevrolet Cars & Nbsp; Uzbek Assembly & Nbsp; To & Nbsp; Russia Postponed

The Uzbek company UzAuto has postponed the start of sales in Russia of low-cost Chevrolet models of its own production from March to mid-summer. According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the firm was unable to import a batch of cars for certification before the announcement of restrictive measures related to the coronavirus pandemic.

• UzAuto hopes to have time to carry out a series of crash tests necessary for the installation of Era-Glonass by August. The manufacturer will also have to negotiate with large dealer networks after the unsuccessful launch of the Ravon brand, owned by UzAuto.

• In February, General Motors allowed UzAuto to sell cars under the Chevrolet brand on the Russian market. The Spark hatchback, as well as the Nexi (formerly Aveo) and Cobalt sedans, will be the first to go on sale. Now they are available in Russia under the names Ravon R2 (from 698,000 rubles), NexiR3 (from 730,500 rubles) and R4 (from 756,000 rubles).

• Later, the Chevrolet Damas minibus may appear on the Russian market. The production of the model was set up in Kazakhstan in the spring, where it costs 3.3 million tenge (564,000 rubles). The weng is only 3845 millimeters long and began selling in 1991 under the Daewoo brand. The model is a facelifted version of the 1985 Suzuki Carry.
