Video: Belarusians Invented Tesla's Killer Roadster

The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NAS RB) showed the President of the country Alexander Lukashenko projects of electric machines of its own design. Among them is a roadster, the creators of which are confident that it will be able to compete with Tesla's electric cars. This was reported by the "BelTA" agency.

- So far, only a prototype chassis of an unnamed roadster and a full-size body mockup are ready. The two-seater electric car will be rear-wheel drive with the interior shifted as far back as possible, like a sports car with an internal combustion engine. According to calculations, the roadster will be able to accelerate to 170 km / h and travel without recharging up to 270 kilometers.

It is not yet known when the development of the Belarusian electric roadster will end. There is no information about where it can be produced.

Tesla showed the second generation Roadster in 2017. It is equipped with three electric motors, with the help of which the four-wheel drive supercar accelerates to 97 km / h in 1.9 seconds. The maximum speed of the model will exceed 400 km / h, and the range will be almost 1000 kilometers with a battery with a capacity of 250 kW ∙ h.
TeslRoadster serial production is scheduled to start in 2020. The company has been collecting pre-orders with a deposit of $ 50,000 (3.7 million rubles) for almost three years. The electric car itself costs $ 200,000 (14.9 million rubles).
