Tesl announced that the start of serial production of the Semi tractor has been postponed to 2021. Initially, it was assumed that the release will begin at the end of 2019. In the spring of the same year, it became known that the terms were shifted by a year, and now they were postponed once again.

The reason for the next delay was the unavailability of the production site. It has simply not yet been built next to the American TeslGigNevada plant, which produces batteries for electric cars. The tractor itself continues to undergo pre-production tests.
- TeslSemi is equipped with four electric motors from the Model 3 sedan, which allows the tractor with a 36-ton trailer to accelerate to 60 mph (97 km / h) in 20 seconds, and without it in just five seconds. Semi will receive two versions - Standard with a range of 300 miles (483 kilometers) and Long Range, capable of driving 500 miles (805 kilometers).
- TeslSemi premiered back in 2017, and since then the company has been collecting pre-orders with a deposit of $ 5,000 (367 thousand rubles). The basic tractor is estimated at $ 150,000 (11 million rubles), and the Long Range modification - at $ 180,000 (13.2 million rubles).
