
Video: Electric BMW X3: First Images

BMW is preparing for the premiere of an all-electric modification of the X3 crossover, which will be called the iX3. Two photos of the novelty appeared on the web.


- The novelty differs from versions with internal combustion engines in the form of bumpers, plugs instead of "nostrils", overlays on the front fenders and special wheel disks. Earlier, the company said that these wheels are 15 percent lighter than conventional wheels, reduce drag coefficient by five percent and power consumption by two percent.

The technical characteristics of the rear-wheel drive iX3 were officially revealed back in 2019. The crossover will receive an electric motor with a capacity of 286 hp. (400 Nm), mounted on the rear axle, and a battery with a capacity of 74 kWh, which provides 440 kilometers without recharging.
- Serial production of the BMW iX3 will be established in China by the end of 2020. From the Chinese factory, the electric vehicle will be delivered to markets around the world. The exact date of the premiere of the crossover has not yet been announced.
