E.C.D. Automotive Design from Florida has announced an atypical restomod based on the classic British Land Rover Defender. Instead of a gasoline engine, an electric power plant from TeslModel S with a 100-kilowatt battery pack will be hidden under the hood of the SUV.
- The dynamics of the electric Defender is impressive: from zero to 60 mph (97 km / h), the SUV accelerates in 5.5 seconds. This is faster than the tuning versions of Def with V8 engines from Chevrolet.
- According to the creators, it takes five hours to charge the batteries from three-phase charging. A fully charged SUV can travel up to 220 miles or 355 kilometers.

For the "environmentally friendly" Defender E.C.D. will offer special styling - from decorative elements of the exterior to off-road equipment, LED optics and interior refinement. Customization can be individual.
- There is no data yet when the first copy will be ready. The company also does not name the cost of converting an SUV into an electric car.
