Video: Future Lexus NX Will Receive A Hybrid Setup From RAV4

Lexus has filed an application with the European Patent Office for the trade names NX 350h and NX 450h +. According to InsideEV’s, the new modifications will go to the second generation of the crossover.

- The Lexus NX 450h + will be the brand's first plug-in hybrid. The novelty will borrow a 306-horsepower setup from the ToyotRAV4 Prime soplatform, which was presented in the fall at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This unit uses a 2.5-liter aspirated engine and two electric motors, one for each axle. From standstill to 100 km / h, the RAV4 Prime accelerates in 6.2 seconds and is capable of traveling on electric traction up to 63 kilometers.
-
The base hybrid Lexus NX 350h will receive a different power plant, which is also installed on the new RAV4, and without the function of recharging from the household network. Its power will be 222 hp: it uses the same "four" 2.5, but paired with weaker electric motors. In the US, the trade names NX250 and NX350 are also registered, which will acquire conventional gasoline engines.
- According to the latest data, the second generation Lexus NX will receive Toyota's most advanced multimedia with a 14-inch display. The premiere of the novelty will take place in the fall of 2021.
