BMW Has Registered The Name Of A Huge "charged" SUV

BMW has filed an application with the German Patent Office to register the X8 M trademark. Documents are pending approval. Reported by the Bimmer Post.

• Rumors about the development of a crossover BMW X8 have been circulating since 2017, but it was not assumed that it will receive an M version. The novelty is expected to be a luxury version of the X7 with its own design of optics, grille and bumpers, as well as a four-seater saloon with more expensive trim.
• The first to debut the standard BMW X8 in a hybrid version of the M45e with an in-line gasoline "turbo-six" and an electric motor. Motor1 suggests that the X8 M is likely to receive a biturbo 4.4 V8, which develops 600-625 horsepower on the new X5 M, X6 M and M8.
• According to the latest data, the production of the BMW X8 M45e will begin in July 2022, and the M-version will become serial no earlier than 2023. The main competitor is the four-seater Mercedes-Maybach GLS with a 558-horsepower 4.0 V8, which debuted back in November 2019 and will go on sale in the second half of this year.
