Mercedes-Benz is preparing the flagship electric vehicle EQS for serial production. According to Autocar, the model will later receive a top version, which will become part of the Mercedes-AMG lineup.
- The most powerful EQS will have two electric motors with a combined output “well above” 600 hp. (900 Nm). The AMG version can accelerate to 100 km / h in less than four seconds, and the top speed will be limited to 250 km / h.
The first to enter the market will be the all-wheel drive modification of the Mercedes-Benz EQS 550 4Matic with a pair of electric motors with a total capacity of 476 hp. and 760 Nm. For the Vision EQS concept with similar recoil, the company indicated 4.5 seconds to 100 km / h and a 700-kilometer power reserve without recharging a battery with a capacity of 90 kWh.
- The Mercedes-Benz EQS, built on the new ME (Modular Electric Architecture) platform, will be a frameless liftback comparable in length to the current S-Class sedan. At the same time, the electric car will become more spacious inside due to the increased wheelbase and the absence of a central tunnel.
- The debut of the serial Mercedes-Benz EQS will take place before the end of 2020. The AMG version will be presented in a couple of years. Later, other electric vehicles, including Gelik, will be released under the Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
