This car was supposed to plug all Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari and Jaguar combined. But the financial problems that constantly plagued Gerald Wigert's project made the W8 a piece goods for enthusiasts instead of a real legend. Therefore, the chances of meeting him on the roads are negligible.
Between 1989 and 1993, 22 unique coupes were produced with a six-liter twin-turbo V8 and a three-speed automatic transmission. Reventon is a TFT display with two modes of operation. The first one can be said to be classic: the scales of the speedometer and tachometer are presented in the form of arcs, which, as the speed and revs increase, are filled with color. The second option is much more interesting. In it, the speedometer is a kind of sight of a combat aircraft, and the tachometer is the screen of a combat arsenal. In addition to them, the overload screen is located in the center of the dashboard. It seems to have interesting meanings in Reventon.
The Japanese supercar LF is remembered not only for the crazy price and the furious song of the naturally aspirated V10 engine, but also for the unusual dashboard. Such a solution is extremely rare even now.
And it's not about a virtual tachometer: there is a dime a dozen of that today. The fact is that the Lexus LF tidy can move mechanically. Depending on the selected driving mode, the ring in which the tachometer is located took a different position on the dashboard. This was done, according to the Japanese, for the most comfortable reading of information. By the way, the tachometer of the Lexus LF is not analog only due to the fact that the mechanical needle of the tachometer simply would not keep up with the increase in the speed of the Yamaha engine. A similar dashboard can be found on the Koenigsegg CCXR, CCXR Edition, CCXR Trevit and other modifications of the hypercar. The eccentric manufacturer of supercars from Sweden did the most original thing: by installing three instruments (speedometer, tachometer and boost pressure indicator) in one dial with arrows coming out of one point. Probably, this design negatively affected the information content of the shield, but Koenigsegg considered this solution original and successful enough to transfer it to the Agera model, albeit in a simplified, digital form. By the way, a similar dashboard was on the rare Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM.
Another unusual tidy from Koenigsegg. This time - from the Jesko hypercar. The model, named after his father Christian von Koenigsegg, has every chance of becoming the fastest production supercar on the planet: according to computer simulations, its maximum speed exceeds 500 km / h!
